Script for interview
I: Who are you and what do you do?
A: My names Ava and I am (hopefully, laugh) an upcoming
singer!
I: Why do you do what you do?
A: I do what I do as I have a pure passion for showing my
emotions and feelings through singing. This is shown through my first single
which is called ‘seventeen’ and it is all about the simpler times and when I
was still finding myself.
How do you work?
A: I work great with my crew and band as we started off as
friends and grown together in ways which I can’t explain!! I also have a fan
base called then Aviators who truly amazing, they come to all my shows, tweet
me and support me, I love them so much.
I: What’s your background?
A: I am originally from Essex, no I am not the stereotype like
everyone thinks and then when I turned 18 I moved to London, Greenwich to
pursue my singing career.
I: What’s integral to the work of an artist?
A: I would say the
most important thing about being an artist it is essential for a sense of
completeness. The process of how things
were originally apart and initially separate in some way join together to form
a bigger, more solid thing. Exploring and finding more things with your voice
is truly amazing and motivates me every day. It is the one thing that did keep
me singing and perusing my career.
I: What has been a seminal experience?
A: Ooo I’d say there have been two major experiences which I
would say are truly memorable. The first one would have to be when I was chosen
for the ‘British breakthrough act’ at the Brits, which really did prove how the
hard myself and team have been working to get noticed and for people to like my
song. The other seminal moment is when I went onto BBC radio 1 and the live
lounge! I loved every moment of it and every cover I did…. If you didn’t get a
chance to see or hear it, it is currently available on Catch-up and YouTube.
I: What other artists do you most identify yourself most
with?
A: I would like to think that myself and Jess Gylnne are
very similar as it is not only about having mad vocals but also having some fun
with our voices and music videos!! I like her simplicity but also how she likes
to put on a show at the same time without coming away from the singing.
I: Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?
A: I know I have already mentioned it but ‘Seventeen’ did
truly inspire me as it is a weird age which no one warns you about and honestly
you find out all about yourself which is pretty cool. Id say it’s the last age
you get to still be a child and make major mistakes but it also teaches you to
work on your friendships and relationships. Especially with your parents and
friends as they are the ones which will have your back.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
Haha. Ha my most embarrassing moment is when I’d just
finished recording haha and like a typically teenager I was on my phone and
wasn’t looking where I was going so I went smack into a glass door and passed
out for a while. So when I woke up to around 10 people around me trying to wake
me up you could say that is very embarrassing.
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Erm because I am still young I have only done weekend jobs,
one of these being I have work in Costa Coffee but I kept being told off for
singing too much ahaha,
Thank you very much for the interview Ava its been a
pleasure! Best of luck
Thank you, you too.
